To grow in generousity

Here is a wonderful site that I just found and wanted to share with everyone.

Missionary-Blogs.com

On that site, one of the missionaries had posted a poem.  I want to share it.  It encouraged me to keep on looking to helping others.  Here it is:

_______________________________________________________________________

May God bless you with discomfort

At easy answers, half-truths, and superficial relationships

So that you may live deep within your heart.

May God bless you with tears

To shed for those who suffer pain, rejections, hunger and war,

So that you may reach out your hand to comfort them

And to turn their pain into joy.

And may God bless you with enough foolishness

To believe that you can make a difference in the world

So that you can do what others claim cannot be done.

To bring justice and kindness to all.

So, I am opening my mouth on behalf of those without a voice. God has shown us what is good and what is required. We are to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with Him. May God lead our hearts to love more fully and to follow Him wherever He leads.

Sharing my daily bread.  What we have been given.

Also, telling about our Lord, through sharing what we have, sharing what the Lord has given to us and thus, sharing his love.

Out of our abundance, giving to others in their need.

Trying to help others that are in far greater need.

Paul spoke of it when he said, in the end times there would be.......   -lover's of self.  We are being styled into that form, by being a part of our environment that seeks to please ourselves over thinking of others.

My family is a fairly normal family.  I babysit, and my husband works, and my daughter works.

My husband and I live payday to payday and keep nothing as far as savings at all.

In comparison to others needs, we have alot.

And it doesn't take much to make a difference in other's lives.

It is to be consistant, not forgetting, and when we fail, to get up and go again.

If we can touch people's lives by helping, I know everyone can.

We've all been given so much by our Lord.

Our testimony of Jesus in our lives.  Our prayers.  Our helping.

I have recently heard of two missionaries speaking about two different towns in which there were only children left to fend for themselves.  There were no adults left, they had all died of aids.

It is common for us in America to spend huge amounts of money on stuff but like me, to often forget to set aside for what really matters, the lives of others, and in the case mentioned, towns of children with no parent  and in deep need.

Alot of times we think we can do no good.  They seem so far off.  But they aren't.

It is the same for not hearing about Jesus.  People are hungry and starving.  And often I am overfull.  And people aren't far off in need of hearing the Word of God.

Souls starve for Christ Jesus and salvation through Him remains needy.

We're the ones given the call to help in both situations.  So I want to do that and if I can help you in any way, let me know.  I have craft shows to raise money for food.  And put out flyers to take out testimonies about our Lord.

Abraham expressed his faith by what he did.

That simple Missionary-Blogs.com can be an open door to helping.

Just contact some of those people and pray and ask the Lord to guide you.  There are many people in the fields, and many needs and all of us, needed.

I know of lots of places that take in street kids and orphans.

We have a garage sale, do craft shows, simple things, to help.

But of great importance,  is to show Jesus' love to our neighbors.

They'll be drawn to Him when they see the true Jesus, His love for them, shining out of our hearts and coming out of our hands that want to share.

To grow in a generous spirit toward those things that belong to the Lord.  And everyone is the Lord's field.

I want to see in the soil of our lives a generousity that will pour itself out and spend itself on the poor and needy.

That is my desire of my heart for my life and my family.  But I pray that the Lord might help us in that, for it is only from Him and He gives the increase in our hearts to be obedient to His call and work, and it is His love that shares any good thing.

The Lord said to command the work of His hands.  And that is what I feel in Him today.  He wants us to grow in generousity.

He wants us to increase in that which will bring a crop of reward of real goodness, - good fruit.

We can start with our neighbors and go to the other side of the world.  I want to be there, too.

You are important to us.  I want to encourage you to feel free to share your life with us, as we want to share ours with you.

Love to all.  Kathleen Angell
