I said a prayer to the Lord, as I saw the man and his wife across the street that I had talked to, watching him. I ask the Lord that the young man would be helped to do right.
I remember years ago, before I truly met the Lord and even some years after, I remember being so immature, so inconsiderate, so unfaithful, so unstable, so lacking in the care of any human, much less, any animal or even myself.
We come to the Lord with orphaned lives without direction. Needing our Heavenly Father's daily guidance.
As we walk with the Lord and He is there with us, we can look back at our lives and rejoice and see His life there with us, helping us, changing us, from glory to glory.
It is most wonderful, to look and see that the Lord is present with us, by the change He gives to our lives.
I was and would still be, except for the Lord Jesus Christ, a person not knowing how to take good care of any living thing with love.
Jesus is love, and His life, His Love, in us, teaches us how to love.
I am always seeing, by His grace, new areas that need His touch of love and change in me.
And a willingness to give that love to others.
I was thinking of this quickly, in a flash, about the place I'd come from and the change Jesus brought into my life, when I saw that young man.
In a flash came recall, and a compassion for that young man. And for all the young men and women in our world, and especially in my heart for those in the United States who have such opportunity, and are not always loved enough to be what they can be, in Jesus.
Only the Lord can really give us that love, or give it to us, through another.
How much the young men and women of the world need Jesus. How much the world needs Jesus. We need the Lord so badly.
The world and the sin in it, leaves us needy. Poor and needy. Thirsty and dry and without. For the life of Jesus Christ our precious Lord.
Faithfulness. Love. Patience. Endurance. Kindness. The Fruits of the Spirit, that took the Lord Jesus Christ in my life to intercede for me, to faithfully bring to me change in my life from one of uselessness, to one that could be useful to Him. Growing daily in this.
To give our lives, to be vessels that could take a drink of water to those thirsting.
He brings fruitfulness. Working in us a new life. His Own Life.
A good and precious Lord. Faithful and loving to us, correcting, pruning, caring, there with us.
You and I.
I can rejoice and again, I say, rejoice! This life of God from Jesus is worth more than precious gold or rubies or pearls or anything we could find in the world or anywhere for that matter, that we would look for or want.
To know Him is to cast them out as valueless, out of our hearts and find true worth that comes from Him alone.
His life is the True Life that we need to be made whole. And that all the world needs and that the young people and old people and children need.
All that we have of value is Him.
And that which we have of value is His life in us and it is to give to the thirsty, the poor, the needy and dying of the world.
He is the True Vine. The sap and life, that every soul needs to live, thrive and grow.
I had good parents, - they were good to me, loving to me all my life.
I love and respect them for that, the thought of them is extremely dear to me. More now that they are gone, than when they were here as appreciation comes from Jesus, also.
But they could not give to me what I really needed if they didn’t know how to, or have what I needed.
I needed Jesus' life and His fruit and life worked in me.
They did what they knew to do.
But it is as we come to the Lord and give our lives to Him, and receive Him, that He comes in and changes and rearranges our lives to welcome His life.
And He was kind enough to not leave me the same as I was. And He was kind enough to seek me out and show me who He was, and give me the opportunity to come to know Him.
For myself alone? No. To know Him and love Him yes.
To be a servant to others lives, yes. To be a servant of His, to take to them what He has given to me...knowing Him more. Recieving that treasure of knowing Him through our salvation which is more important than anything else.
Freely we have received and freely we give. We can give to the world, to know the One Who came and gave His life for us and to us.
The very same Jesus. His life for the thirsty and dying world.
